It's a late night at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornilla, TX. The stars are out, insane amounts of analog equipment fill the room, and Isaac Anderson (State of The Secretary) has to catch a flight in a few hours. The last 3 days have been filled with recording State of The Secretary’s debut album, and this is the last chance to utilize Sonic Ranch’s studio space. After tracking the last album take of the session, Anderson decided to do one last thing: record a stripped down version of his last EP, “Thrown Away”. Producer/Engineer Joe Reinhart (Producer - Hop Along, Beach Bunny) mic'd up the Studio’s grand piano, turned the lights down, and rolled tape. Isaac let go of everything, and pushed every ounce of emotion into the performance. Even with all the fancy pieces of equipment, massive tracking rooms, and multi-track arrangements, sometimes a voice and piano is all that’s needed to convey emotion (and a few mics, but, ya know, the point still stands).
